OMG it's been so long since I've had time to post here that I couldn't even remember my password to get in!!!!!! Anyway, so many have emailed and ask me how things are going that I wanted to take a minute to update. I figured here would be the best place.

As most of you know this time of year is very busy for me. I do my best to help where I can and celebrate the Christmas season the way I feel Jesus intended for it to be done. So the kid's and i have been very busy volunteering and trying to help out where we can.

Things have gone WONDERFULLY and I am proud to say that we have been just as blessed by others as we have hopefully blessed them!!!! Christmas is such a wonderful time of year to just rejoice in what we have and be happy. I hope that everyone is keeping that in mind and enjoying the season despite all the problems that surround us. Remember to reach out and help those around you. It doesn't have to be financial there are MANY ways you can volunteer and help simply by donating your time!!!

And yes the BABY!!!!!!! Summer is doing GREAT!!!!!!! We will be 28 weeks this SAturday. Amazing how time flys when you are busy.LOL Her lastest ultrasound was almost a month ago now and she was almost 2 pounds!!!!!!!! She's growing so fast and will be here before we know it!!!!!!!!

This Monday the 12th we go back and I "think" they said after this I will have to start going back to the doctor every two weeks. Every day longer I just continue to thank God for giving her to us and allowing me to make it as far as I have. I truly feel she'll be making it all the way, or REALLY close to it though, and relax a bit more the further along we get!!!!!!

I really hope to get back to my blog posting and sharing regular really soon. I hope you are all having a WONDERFUL Christmas Season and remembering to celebrate what is really important, Jesus Christ our Savior!!!!!

Challenge for Black Cat Fall/Halloween Crop

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!

This month's event at the black cat forum is a Fall/Halloween theme crop!!!!!!

So for my first challenge I decided to make Halloween themed Magnets!!!!!!! I originally started designing my own little cut files but ended up buying an ADORABLE set I saw at Trina's website http://www.digiscrapkits.com/ It was perfect for what I needed.

I just impored them with texture into MTC and resized them down to 1 inch. Then I made a scallop circle to go behind them and print and cut them out. Then using spray glue I attached them to the glass pebbles then applied magnets to the back of them. It's hard to get a good picture of them but here's what I ended up with

They turned out really cute and adorable to stick on the fridge!!!!!! If you don't have glass pebbles using wax paper and a hot glue gun you can make your own!!!!!

And here are the files I had designed to print and cut I"m going to make another set.

Black CAt Back to School Blog hop Day 3

Well we are on the last day of the blog hop and I have one last project to show you. A cute little 3D school house to hold Tea Light Candles!!!!!!

I got this cute little free file from Monica over at her blog . It was suppose to be a 3d family house and I just added the world school to the front. It reminds me so much of my old school house when I was a kid!!!!! I just couldn't pass it up!!!

THe windows and some of the pieces are tiny on this one so I can't guarantee how it will cut with all cutters but it did wonderfully on my BC Cougar. I used DCWV textured CS to make sure it was good and sturdy. I also ran the white paper through the xyron so all the windows and trim would be sticky. You guys know me and gluing little pieces so that worked wonderfully for me. Thanks Monica for a GREAT file!!!!!!!!

Black Cat Back to School Blog Hop day 2!!!!!

Well a new day a new project. I have two projects again today for you.

First are these cute little note page holders. You make these using the clear stand along 3.5*5 picture frames. You can get these at the dollar store, walmart, pretty much anywhere for a buck!!!!! Great for a teachers gift.

I actually got this idea from another blog I see it on at Kerry's Paper Crafts and had to make one to go in my School Bus bag (shown below). I love filling little goodie bags for the teachers to help get them started. I included the free file that I used on mine. The little bear teacher was from a kit at http://www.digiscrapkits.com/. if you've never checked out Trina's stuff you should really stop by. She has the best TOU and some of the cutest stuff!!!!!!!!

And then my 2nd project is the cutest little school bus gift bag. I bought this set from Leo at http://www.svgcuts.com/ and I just love it. There are two other gift bags in the set as well so you can use it for multiple occassions. I just love them. For my back to school gift bags I choose the School Bus bag. I used some little google eyes with eyelashes on my owls and just low how it all turned out. So cute and much to my surprise very sturdy!!!!!

Be sure not to use pop dots as you'll need to laminate them to make them last!! At least I have to for my kid's!!!!!! Before laminating be sure to fill in any important information on the back of them. I wouldn't include your address if you will be attaching them to the outside zippers but that is up to you. For my kid's I usually put my cell phone number number and name and the grade they are in. That's it. I still need to attach the binder rings to mine but I wanted to go ahead and show them (and I have to find my binder rings!!)

I want to "officially announce" the Christmas In July Crop. It will be held July 8th- July 25th on the Black Cat forum. As you can see there is a lot going into this crop and it is one you do not wish to miss!!!! If you have never joined a cybercrop before it's EASY. Basically we post a BUNCH of challenges for different projects and techniques that you can try along many free files. Once you do a challenge you simply post a picture of that project in the proper challenge thread. You get one point for every challenge you do. At the end of the crop we will compile the list and then we use a random number generator and someone who did NOT participate in the crop will choose the winners. It's just that simple!!!!!

Also, if you would like to spread the word about the crop please feel free to grab the blog button below and post it on your blogs or websites. Hot cocoa box!!!!!

My Second challenge for the Christmas Crop was to make HOt cocoa pouches to be used in stocking, kid's school parties, sunday school classes, homeless shelters, etc. I just love making these little things.

Last year I made the envelops and if you missed those I'll link you to it at the end of this post. This year I wanted to make boxes. I sort of cheated on this one. My daughter got this as a gift last year from her teacher and I carefully took the box apart, scanned it in and then placed score lines where they were needed. So not exactly from scratch but it works just the same.LOL

My first Challenge for the Christmas Crop!!!!!!!

I use to love to decorate my own candles in any theme/color scheme I liked but had gotten away from it. For the Christmas Crop I decided it was time I start them again. So I made these. Files and video are below if you'd like them!!!!!!

These last two I was playing with the Black Cat Foil Master!!!!!!!!! I haven't quite mastered the reloading of the paper into the laser printer for two color imaging but WOW am I loving this thing. Watch the blog for video's of this amazing machine and many more projects coming soon!!!!!!!!

Video Tutorial for how I did the first set is below. I'll upload the foil master one once I get more of those video's done for that machine. I tell you it is an AMAZING machine though. I am totally impressed and I have only just began playing with it.

Every just had those days when it seems like everything and anything is against you? Those days where you just look up and say "Why me Lord". I truly believe God has a purpose for giving us days like that and how we choose to deal with them defines where are faith lies. So this mornings file is to remind me as I go through the day to keep the faith. Remember that God doesn't give me more than I can handle and despite how bad things seem God is always with me. All I need to do is learn to let go and let God!!!!!!!

Pretty flower Free file and Video

Hi Everyone.

Today I have some pretty flowers for you!!!!!!! I did a short video to show you how I put these together and how I got the coloring and such. The video goes from SCAL , to the Cougar, to putting the flowers together.

I am slowly learning more about SCAL to help those on the BC forum that use that software but it's definately a slow process for me!!!!

Please note the Classy Label used on the front of my card was created by Paulo at http://scale-files.blogspot.com/ He has some AMAZING designs that are just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing Paulo!!!! The Flower file is mine and can be downloaded at the end of this post.

Unfortunately my sample is not a happy card. My Pastor's wife lost her brother this past weekend so I made this card for her!!!!!! May God be with their family!!!!!

Today I have another project I did for the Black Cat Mini Crop this weekend!!!!! This one goes to a little boy with a very rare type of Liver Cancer named Tyler. We are currently mailing the cards to Shirley and she is taking them to him as she just lives down the street.

I have taken Tylers name out of this file so you could add whatever name you'd like. I used the All Star free font on my card. You can do a search for it online but I think I got it from DaFont.

Okay I think that's it. I think it's all pretty self explanatory but I'll give you a few details that may not be. The stylus is used to run down the body of the butterfly in order to make the wings pop up (HUGE thanks to Penny Duncan for teaching me this technique), the chalks are for the sunflowers and the fence, the tim holtz inks for the butterflies (as is the glossy card) , and the Daisy D pattern paper I used as the card front base. If you have ANY other questions please feel free to let me know!!!!!!!!!!

And just for good measure here is another one I did. I am not sure how I feel about this one but it's kind of cute, just really not my style. The files in this one are from My Scrap Chick. I thought I'd like them but when I got it together I decided I didn't. So this one will go to my girls to play with.

Butterflies!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The June mini crop begins tonight at 5 p.m. Central time -Sunday June 12th at 8 p.m. Central time on the Black Cat Forum and I can't wait!!!!! Moring all!!!!!!

Well it's Spring and iwth that comes many vacations. As behind as I am obviously I still have no scrapped our zoo pictures from two years ago. So I thought I'd get a jump start and at least start creating some of the files and cutting the animals.

Morning all!!!!!! Sorry for the delay!!

Today I have a bird cage. I created this last night for my kid's. the image was from a drawing book my son has that teaches you how to draw. They are making a father's day album for their daddy. We have a Senegal Parrot that ONLY likes hubby so I did a print and cut of a Senegal Parrot to go along with it for them to put on their layout. I then smeared the cage with Metallic Rubons to make it look more like our Cage.

Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!! I hope you all had a GREAT Saturday. Tonight i have a simple yet pretty little flower for you. You can use it as a print and cut (print then hide all the layers but the shadow and cut) or do it as a paper piecing.

The hibiscus from yesterday, I do have the video done where I used the watercolors on mine but I am having trouble getting it uploaded to You Tube. As soon as I can get it up I'll post it here!!!!!!! Video has now been added!!!!!

I know I know, I said It was to hard to use but in the past year they seem to have made some major improvements and so I wanted to give it a try, especially since it now supports the Black Cat Machines. I am extremely impressed at how much it has changed since I downloaded the trial almost a year and a half ago!!!!!!

Soooooooooooooo, all that being said beginning tomorrow all files will now be in MTC, SVG, and SCAL3 formats. I hope this helps all of you who use SCAL to use my files easier and without the extra steps!!!!!

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!

I hope you are all doing well today. For today's free file I have a bookmark that I made for a Relay for Life fundraiser!!!!! It's a print and cut file so quick and easy!!!!! You can print and cut the bear seperate if you want and pop dot him on a bit but I wouldn't suggest this if you are going to laminate them (ask me how I know that one lol).

The little bear is from a set at digi scrap kits. Trina has WONDERFUL files and excellent terms of use that are VERY liberal so i highly suggest checking it out if you never have!!!!!!!!!

Today we are staying put here!!!!!!! I have a project I am excited to share with you.

I am always trying new media and things with my Black Cat and MTC and am always amazed at the results. Well I had a roll of copper that I had bought a while back. I found it while cleaning up my scraproom and got it out and decided to try engraving on it with my cougar. It did WONDERFUL. Then I wanted to do more but was thinking what in the world was I going to do with them all.

I decided I would try and make a wind chime!!!!!! I am so happy with how it turned out. I did think of several things along the way that I would have liked to add but I am still pleased with how it turned out. I figure I'll save those thoughts and idea's for another one!!!

I had the intentions of video'ing the wind chime outside in my flower garden but unfortunately weather didn't allow for that.

Also, you will find below a zipped file. In the zipped file is the mtc file, svg file, image file, and a word document with a tutorial on the supplies I used and how I put it together. I also did a quick video to hopefully help you as well.

I did record the engraving with the cougar however I left it in a seperate video. I didn't want the one putting it together to get way to long (and bore you to death lol).

So, here we go.

As many of you know we were recently hit with a major flood in our area. Things have calm down and are slowly going back to normal for US but I know many are just starting to rebuild. Many who lost everything.

We are helping while we can but I thought they may all need a little pick me up. So I've started doing a few projects to send to them to hopefully help them along the way. These are just very simply card that I used Print and Cut and MTC on . I'll include the files for anyone who wants them. I've made 30 of these so far and hope to make other items for them in the coming weeks. It's not much but hopefully enough to remind them that people are thinking and praying for them and that God is always with us.

This crop is open to EVERYONE. It doesn't matter what software or what cutter. The Black Cat Forum Welcomes all!!!!!!!!!

The theme of this Crop will be Spring/Father's day!!!!!! The projects have been made very flexible however so if you need to do them for another occassion it'll still work for you!!!!!!

Hi all. I have been using a cutting machine for several years. I started by using a Wishblade. I then purchased the CRPro 2 so I could cut using the 12 x 12 papers. I do a lot of designing in Illustrator but since purchasing MTC I find I use it less because MTC takes care of most of my needs. I use my cutters so much more now that I have the MTC program.

Thanks to Christy for hosting my May Crop project. I was asked to do a simple project using the Craft Robo and MTC. I love using MTC with the Craft Robo. It is so much easier to use than Robomaster software.

You use a print driver to cut. It’s as easy as selecting your mtc or svg file. MTC has the easiest layering methods of any program I have tried. You put your separate colors on their own layer and open or shut an eye depending on your needs. Julie Flanagan has great tutorials on her yahoo site http://www.MTC_Tuts@yahoogroups.com . She tells you in very good detail and her explanations are very understandable.

I have used the Craft Robo CC100 and the Craft Robo Pro 2 CE3000 models with MTC. I hope those that have the Craft Robo’s hidden away will get them out and try them with this program. If you want to ask any questions my e-mail is http://www.grandy@hughes.net Darlene

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!!!!

This is Trish, Im a cutter, from the MTC forum visiting as a guest artist on Christy’s blog here at http://everdaylittlethings.blogspot.com/ to take part in the month long May MTC blog hop. I started off with a totally different idea, but I had issues with getting my file to fit right and it seemed a little complicated. So I came up with this instead. This is my first blog hop as a participant since I don’t have my own blog. Christy, I really appreciate you letting me participate and support promoting MTC. I love the freedom to design my own projects and the variety of media MTC allows us to play with including vinyl, rhinestones, and taking paper to new dimensions.

Whenever I get the chance to visit a craft fair and see the word art mat picture frames, I always have intentions of doing some kind of word frame project. Heavy duty cutters like the Cougar or Gazelle could use thicker material rather than card stock. With today being Mother’s Day, this might be an easy last minute project for those still trying to think of a gift. My mom always likes getting updated pictures of the kids since we only get to see her twice a year.

I have two projects for you today. A word art picture frame and a card. I have included files for both.

Step 1. Close all layer s except the black layer.
Step 2. Print this page making sure the settings are set to landscape.
Step 3. Put that sheet on your mat in landscape orientation. Close all layers except the blue love layer.

Step 4. Cut this layer which will make your windows for the pictures.

Step 5. Print out a photo page with lots of small pictures- approximately 2x2 size which you’ll to choose for your collage.

Step 6. Fit and layer these pictures taping from behind. You may need to cut off any excess that hangs over beyond each letter.

Step 7. Close all layers except the border mat. Cut the mat border from patterned paper

which is also on its own separate page tab. This page is also done in landscape view.

Step 8. I hand-trimmed the love mat to the 8x10 size using the frame insert as a guide.

Step 9. Clean the glass in the frame and layer the pieces with the mat border being first then the love cut out.

Freebie File: Follow God's Rainbow

Hi All!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a while so I thought I'd offer this file I created early this week. I designed this for my girl scouts and we used them to make Magnets for them to put on their Fridges!!!!!!!! I didn't print and cut the rainbow, though I could have, because I wanted it to have the girls writing. I also print and cut the titles for them as it would have been to hard for them to glue each letter. I pre-cut everything on my Cougar before I went and it only took the girls about 15 minutes to do them and they have a blast!!!!!! Once the girls got them put together we laminated them and attached magnets to the Back of them. They turned out soooooo cute!!!!!!!!!

So here is one done . This one was done by my 8 year old

FREE file and Video Tutorial: Cutting Craft Felt with the Black Cat Cougar and Make the Cut software

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you are all having a very blessed day. A couple of you had ask me about cutting Felt with the Cougar. This was something I hadn't yet tried with the Black Cat Cougar yet because I did it once with my Cricut Expression and it was a disaster. I vowed I'd never do it again. I got brave though and after cutting the chipboard I knew it would cut the felt. It was just a matter of getting the settings correct for the cougar I figured.

Boy was I wrong. It was a BREEZE. The settings weren't hard to figure out at all, though I think I could improve them, but I was extremely impressed to see it cut great the first time even. I did adjust down the foce and decide on a multiple cut instead the second time and I think it gave a bit better cut but honestly I think if I played with the pressure just a bit more I could avoid the double cut and still get a perfect cut.

So Here is the file I designed to cut. Just a cut litle Easter Egg with the Cross out of it. I love Easter and what it stands for and I like to do everything I can to keep the true meaning of Easter in the celebration. Of course I still like the whole egg thing for my children as well so one way I can teach them to focus and remember the TRUE meaning of Easter, yet still have the egg hunt and bunny thing, is to create files that incorporate BOTH to make things for them.

So here is the little Egg and you can download it to use for your free personal use if you'd like. Then I'll show you the video on the cougar cutting. The settings are listed in the video. Then of course the finished cut.

Cut Felt

Hi everyone

Well it's not very often you need something this thick but I had to try it.LOL I was AMAZED to be perfectly honest that the cougar actually cut it the first time I tried it. I honestly didn't figure it would but it did without flaw. So when someone ask for a video cutting chipboard I thought I'd oblige. This chipboard is 3MM which is just under 1/8 inch thick.

HI Everyone,

Several of you have contacted me and ask If I would clear up some rumors flying around facebook and other sites that mtc will no longer work with their cricuts, even though they already owned it. This is not true. Your current version DOES and WILL still work with MTC as long as you do not update. I just tested it myself. However future versions of MTC regretfully will not per Andy's post here on the forum which can be found here http://forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/13597/effective-immediately.../p1 . If you still have questions Ann has stated you can email her at support@make-the-cut.com and she will answer you to the extent she is able to.

If you are just now wanting to buy MTC then NO, it doesn't include the ability to cut to the cricut. MTC works with many other cutters though including the Black Cat Cougar, Black Cat Lynx, Gazelle, Craft Robo, Silhouette, E craft, US cutter MH series and Laser cut, and any cutter using a HPGL printing support. Check back often if your cutter isn't listed as many more will be added in the future per Andy's post. If you have a cutter that you would like to work with MTC then you can always drop Andy an email at support@makethecut.com to see if he's able to.

As many of you know my preference is obviously the Black Cat cougar. What you may know is that they have announced a new machine similar to the Cougar called the Lynx. This machine is currently selling for $499.00. It is a Great machine as well and uses all the same tools as the Cougar. The difference is in the force and speed. The Lynx will not cut THICK chipboard or Acetate. Also it's currently only avaialbe in a 12 inch model. It iwll cut the full 12 inches though.

I also want to clarify one thing. People seem to think because Andy settled he is admitting guilt. If you have ever been involved in any time of lawsuit you will know this isn't always the Case. PC is a HUGE company that could make the little guy go bankrupt quick by dragging it through the courts. Andy and Ann are just the little guy. It's sad but true, our world is turning into a corporate bullying world!!!!!!!!

Next on our beginners video covering the attachments is the Detail Blade Holder. This holder and blade is WONDERFUL if you like to make tiny intricate cuts. It can be a bit confusing to get the blade in though so I wanted to show you that part.

Also please note I adjusted the Embossing video just a bit. I got an email from someone wanting to know if she needed the mat in before adjusting the embossor tool. My apologies for just assuming everyone knew that you would need the media and mat inserted before adjusting the tool. So I've edited that video (top one in the post below) to show how to do it, INCLUDING the mat.

Someone posted this on the MTC forum and it really touched my heart. Mason is really trying hard to collect cards from Every state. It looks like he's received most of the states he needs but I figure the more the merrier. So I made the cards below. Here are the cards I"ve made so far. I have NO Idea why the mailbox dude looks so funky!! It is not on that color green paper yet a really pretty Lime green. My photography skills lack a bit obviously.LOL

The mailbox file is on the blog already just click the Valentine's day label!!!!! The other two are from digi web stuidio and I just print and cut them with MTC and my Cougar. I then stamped the image and embossed it. I applied it to the card using pop dots just to give it a bit of dimension!!!

Okay I had the HARDEST time with this for some reason.LOL Once I got it started I like to never got it done. I couldn't for the life of me decide what I wanted to do. I finally got it finished though and I have to say I REALLY like it!!!!!!!!

I used the glossy accents again for the wings and the heart. I wrote in the word Love with a white sharpie and the other words are rubons. Get the free file for the wings and heart below.

Okay a little bit of a change of scenery. LOL If you are following the challenges in the challenge forum at MTC then you will know that there is a 12 months of Christmas challenge. In an effort to be more prepared for Christmas next year and be able to enjoy the season more (instead of being stressed!!) we are doing a project a month to help us prepare. This month is to make 10 Christmas Cards so here is one of mine.LOL

The candy shop file is from http://www.scrappydew.com/. I have cut and now print and cut this file and it's great!!!!! I made a video to walk you through how to do it all . This is the FIRST time I have ever made a video and had to use my camera so it's not the greatest but hopefully it helps.LOL I am going to get better at this evenutally I tell ya. I did this in two parts. One showing you how to set it up in MTC and the other of how to set up the cougar. If you have any questions just let me know.

I want to send out a special thank you to Sheri Corwins for walking me through the Print and Cut method and helping me to figure out my first settings. Also a thank you to her and Rachell Ann for sticking it out with me in skype while we got it together. We had a blast and I will never forget it. LOL!!!!!!

Here are two others I did as well using the snowman set, also from http://www.scrappydew.com/. These were so fast and easy. I am going to use these two as note cards for sending notes to the teachers.

So while these aren't Valentine's (sorry guys I'm getting bored with Valentines LOL) I thought I'd share anyway.

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that you are all enjoying the blog hop so far. I thought I'd give you out another project !!!!!!!

I don't know about you but I am constantly forgetting which username and password goes with what site!!!! So I decided to make myself a password journal!!!!!! I will leave this beside my computer and then I will alway have it by me!!!!!

Supplies Used:

Cutter: Black Cat Cougar!!!

Paper- Die Cuts with a View Cirtrus Stack

3 MM chipboard Graphix

Cougar Pen Tool

Black Cardstock

Cinch Binder and ring

Plain white Card stock.

1. Cut the MTC file for the sunflower. Notice there are two sunflowers included. One has all the petals combined for you and one does not. I cut the one that does not have all them seperate but if you have a cricut depending on how small you cut I don't think it will cut the thin piece like I used when cutting this on my cougar. So I included both. Use your judgement for your machine.

2. Open the cover file. You need to cut two covers out of the chipboard, one for the front and one for the back. If your machine won't cut thick chipboard just cut double the pieces and glue them together.

3. Cut the cover file again multiple times to get the pieces to cover the chipboard. You can also cut the inside pages using that file or you can just use your paper cutter. The Book is 5.5 by 7.

4. Using your pen tool write the words that are in the file with the sunflowers. I used a sharpie and the cougar pen tool which I loved because it made the letters filled.

5. Put it all together and then bind. I used the 3/4 inch binding ring with my cinch to bind mine. If you don't have a binding machine you can just punch three holes in it (or however many you'd like) and then use binder rings. Take ribbon and decorate the binding rings.

Now for our first project: Happily Ever After Card

Supplies used:

K and Company double sided cardstock KP Valentine Pro Card Stack

1 sheet white or pink shimmer paper (or you can use plain cardstock)

5*7 Card base

Glitter or stickles

Glossy Accents

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut the mtc file and the fairy file

2. using glossy accents completely cover the fairy

3. Using either stickles or glitter cover the four larger butterflies in the color of your choice

4. ink the edges of the small butterflies

5. bend each of the butterflies wings in towards the center a bit so they look as if they are flying.

6. Cut down the valentine paper to make a 5*7 card front.

6. Using popdots attach the butterflies and fairy to your pattern paper.

7. Use the opposite side of your paper and attach the happily ever after diecuts (or you can print directly on the pattern paper)

8. Pop dot the bottom strip on the card. You can ink the edges of it as well if you'd like

9. Attach your card front to the card base

10. Give your card to someone special!!!
